Director of Music Diane L. Scott holds an MA from Indiana University of PA. She is curently on the music faculty of Susquehanna University where she teaches piano and accompanies students and faculty recitals and concerts. She maintains her private piano studio as a Suzuki teacher.
Joining the staff of First Lutheran in 1997 Diane organized the Chancel Choir recording of a CD, conducted Mendelssohn's "Elijah" with other members of the community and directed two performances of "Amahl and the Night Visitors." In 2014 she was asked to serve as conductor of the Community Reformation Bicentenial Service in New Berlin.
Diane conducts the Chancel Choir, plays organ for the traditional services, leads the Praise Team for Contemporary Service, helps to direct children's programs and organizes music for Christmas and Easter music.
All music groups are volunteer and open to any interested person. Even if you don't play an instrument, the church owns many auxilliary percussions to inspire any age!
The Chancel Choir is a volunteer choir ranging in age from High School to older. Rehersal is Wednesday night 7:15 to8 pm.
The Praise Team utilizes keyboards, guitars, drums and vocal offerings. A wide variety from Worship Songs to top 40 Christian music.
This also is a volunteer team. The age of participants ranges from Middle School to under 30. Rehersals are 7:30 AM Sunday morning.
